
How to Celebrate Pride Month in Erie PA

The month of June is dedicated to celebrating and supporting the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer/Questioning, and Intersexed and Ally/Asexual (LGBTQIA) community. Whether you identify as LGBTQIA or are an ally, everyone is welcome to join in the celebration of love, acceptance and being proud about who you are. Wednesday, June 1 – Pride Drag Bingo
Kick off Pride month with Pride Drag Bingo, hosted by Alysin Wonderland at Voodoo Brewing. The doors open at 5:30 p.m., cast meet-and-greet will be held at 6 p.m. with bingo and cash prizes beginning at 6:30 p.m. Tickets can be purchased here. Picture courtesy of NWPA Pride Alliance
Wednesday, June 8 – Safe Space Social Hour
The Northwest PA Pride Alliance (NWPA Pride) and Underdog BBQ are hosting a safe space social gathering from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Underdog BBQ with friends, food and drink specials and stimulating conversation. The event is open to all ages.

Saturday, June 18 – Rainbow Family Story Time
Join The Blasco Public Library from 10 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. for a story time event celebrating LGBTQ+ families and their allies! The children's librarians will showcase LGBTQ-friendly picture books from the library’s collection and lead the group in upbeat music and movement activities. Children will receive a family photo frame to decorate and light refreshments will be served. All families with children are welcome to attend. No registration required.
Thursday, June 23 - Pride Night with the Erie SeaWolves
Cheer on the home team during a special Pride night celebration with the Erie SeaWolves at UPMC Ball Park! A special section will be reserved for LGBTQIA family, friends and allies with a portion of ticket sales benefitting the NW PA Pride Alliance. It’s also a Two-Buck Thursday night with $2 concession specials. First pitch is at 6:05 p.m. A special shirt and ticket package is available when purchasing a ticket through NWPAPride.org. Saturday, June 25 - Pride Parade and Pride Festival
The 2022 Pride Parade and Festival will begin with a gathering in front of The Zone Dance Club at 11 a.m., followed by a parade to the festival (18th and State Street north to Perry Square) at Noon. The festival will include information tables, merchants, food, local drag performances, guest speakers, free HIV/STI testing and other entertainment acts centered on the “Safe Journey” mainstage. New this year is the Erie Playhouse “Youth Zone” featuring inflatable children's rides, a story corner and more. This event is free to attend, family-friendly and smoke-free. Sunday, June 26 - Drive Your Pride
Decorate your vehicle in Pride flags, rainbows, colorful streamers and signs and be a part of a pride-filled drive around beautiful Presque Isle State Park! The group will gather in the parking lot of the Tom Ridge Environmental Center at 1 p.m. The parade will step-off at 2 p.m. Please note that there is no stopping once the drive has started and all vehicle decorations must be properly secured. Sunday, June 26 - Pride Drag Brunch
Close out a fabulous Pride weekend with a Pride Drag Brunch at Erie’s only LGBTQIA dance club, The Zone Dance Club. Each admission ticket includes brunch from LaBella’s, a pitcher of mimosas and jaw-dropping drag performances from Alysin Wonderland, Rebecca Mae and others. The event also features a tap take over from Voodoo Brewing. This is a smoke-free, 21 and over event. The show begins at Noon with brunch available during intermission. Reserve your tickets here.

Saturday, August 13 – The 29th Annual Pride Picnic
Join the LGBTQIA family for a day filled with food, fun and friends! The annual Pride picnic takes place from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Presque Isle State Park Rotary Pavilion near the Beach 7 waterworks area. Hot dogs and all the fixin’s will be provided but please bring a dish to share. Information tables, a huge raffle and the traditional LGBTQIA family group picture are also included in the fun! Sunday, August 14 - Pride Day at Waldameer Park and Water World
Enjoy unlimited rides and slides at discounted admission prices and spend the day with your family and friends at Waldameer Park and Water World, an Erie summertime favorite. More information and tickets can be found here.
