Erie County’s attractions and retail shops are important components of our tourism industry and much like everyone else, they have seen a shift in how they operate.  Common practices are being taken by all attractions and retailers to ensure the safety of Erie residents and visitors alike. Maintaining social distancing guidelines, appointment-only hours and limiting the number of guests allowed inside at one time are just a few precautions. If you have questions about a business and their hours of operation, please check with them individually before you go. Support local/shop local!

Game Plan for Safety

Erie County Tourism Recovery Task Force

Back in early 2020, VisitErie, Erie’s primary tourism promotion agency, formed the Erie County Tourism Recovery Task Force.  This Task Force developed and communicated a report outlining implemented, planned and suggested protocols for the safe reopening of Erie County hospitality businesses. Through this collaborative effort, VisitErie’s goal is to assist in the reopening of the industry in accordance with government regulations to best protect potential visitors and Erie County residents.
