expERIEnce Children's Museum exhibit: Framed: Step into Art!
The expERIEnce Children’s Museum is thrilled to share Framed: Step into Art with the community. In this engaging new exhibit, visitors can enter five interactive recreations of famous art from John Singer Sargent, Diego Rivera, Grant Wood, Clementine Hunter, and da Vinci. The exhibit also includes additional stations, like a kaleidoscope art screen and a curator wall, where kids can flex their right brain and create their own art.
Unlike what you would find in a typical museum, Framed welcomes families to reach out and touch the art that's in front of them. “This exhibit encourages children to make a personal connection with art and allows them to have fun and ask questions. The interactive experience that Framed provides is likely the first step in fostering a lifelong appreciation and understanding of art” said Ainslie Brosig, the museum’s Executive Director.
Thanks to a project grant from Erie Arts & Culture, made possible by community contributions to the annual Arts & Culture Campaign and the Erie Arts Endowment,Framed is currently on loan from the Minnesota Children's Museum until May 13th.
The expERIEnce Children's Museum is open Tuesday-Saturday from 10-5 and Sundays from 1-5. For more information, please visit their website at eriechildrensmuseum.org or call them at 453-3743.
