Save the Rhino Day
Join us on Saturday, May 6th from 10am-2pm and help us save the chubby unicorns!
How much does a rhino eat? What are their horns made out of? How many are left in the wild?! Join us for this event celebrating rhino conservation! We will have fun activities (rhino ring toss anyone?), info tables (find out what rhinos eat and play with!), and Mini Behind-the-Scenes tours where you can even meet the Erie Zoo’s Southern white rhinos Bill & Bumper (from 10:30am-1:30pm only)! Tickets for behind-the-scenes tours will be available at the front gate for purchase for $15 per person.
*Important Note! If you plan on participating in the behind the scenes tours - masks are required for animal safety. Can be purchased on site for $1. Thank you!
There will also be a limited edition Rhino Ranch Popcorn flavor available while supplies last in concessions, for an additional 50 cents, proceeds go to the International Rhino Foundation. And a Rhino Raffle where for a $5 donation you can enter to win a customized Behind The Scenes Rhino Painting Experience for 2 plus some other fun rhino goodies!
Don't forget to stop by the Gift Shop and snag your Save The Chubby Unicorn merch or check it out online to PRE-ORDER today through April 12th! Stop into the Erie Zoo on May 6th from 10 AM-2 PM to learn all about this amazing species, witness them up close, and help raise conservation for this beloved endangered species!
A portion of all proceeds from this event will be donated back to the International Rhino Foundation for wild rhino conservation. Did You Know? There are only about 28,000 rhinos left in the world. 4 out of the 5 rhino species are threatened with extinctions with 3 species being critically endangered!
*Please note, Mini Behind-the-Scenes tours may be canceled at any time based on animal wellbeing.
*This event is rain or shine. Portions of the event are included with paid admission or Erie Zoo Membership. Some elements require an additional fee - cash is encouraged
