Kayak Anglers Team Charity Event
The Western PA Chapter of Kayak Anglers will host its annual Team Charity Event on Presque Isle Bay Saturday, May 25. Anglers from Pennsylvania, Ohio, Maryland, New York, Virginia and Ontario are expected to compete.
Anglers will launch at 6 a.m. from Presque Isle State Park, and will fish until 2 p.m. An awards ceremony for all participating anglers will begin at approximately 3 p.m. at Field & Stream. The event is open to members of Kayak Anglers, and is $40 to register a two-person team.
Participants must fish from human powered kayaks, single-person canoes or SUPs. The tournaments are catch-photograph-release events, with all fish measured and scored digitally. Anglers will submit photos of fish remotely via mobile device to be measured. Kayak Anglers utilizes Kayakfishingseries.com for fish photo submissions.
Kayak Anglers operates to foster relationships in the kayak fishing community, with objectives including cleaning waterways and improving waterway access, giving to related charities and building the community through sustainable, catch-photograph-release tournaments. The Western PA Chapter will host seven tournaments in 2019.
All proceeds from this tournament will benefit Shriners Hospitals for Children - Erie.
