The Great Race, the world's premier old car rally, will make a stop in Erie on June 20! This is the first time that the event will be in Erie since 1988.
More than 120 of the world's finest vehicles will be participating in the time-speed endurance rally for vintage cars. The 2022 event will begin in Warwick, Rhode Island on June 18. Vehicles will travel 2,300 miles over nine days, making stops in 19 cities before ending in Fargo, North Dakota on June 26.
Join the fun as 120 vintage cars roll into town for a hosted stop on their 2,300 mile, 9-day journey. You'll have FREE access to all of the cars, some of which are more than 100 years old! This event is family friendly (and pet friendly) and the cars will rolling in and on display for more than 2 hours. This is a rare opportunity that you don't want to miss!
Spectators will have the chance to get an up-close look at all of the vintage automobiles when they're parked in Perry Square from 5 p.m. - 9 p.m. The event is free and open to the public for viewing.
The oldest cars registered to participate in the 2022 event are a 1916 Hudson Pikes Peak Hill Climb Car, a 1917 American LaFrance and a 1917 Peerless. Cars built in 1974 and earlier participate in the event, with most of the entered vehicles having been manufactured before World War II.
