After being closed for several months, please plan to join us for the campus-wide Grand Opening of the Hagen History Center scheduled for the weekend of July 16.
On Saturday and Sunday, Hagen History Center will be open to the public at no charge with the help of sponsorships. Indoor tours will be given with mask wearing and social distancing requirements. The reopening will include campus tours, food trucks, music and activity tables for children.
For the past three years there have been preparations for a new day at the Hagen History Center. If you have driven by the campus on West Sixth Street, you have seen the progress.
Old buildings have been restored, and a new building has been constructed. The manicured grounds are at the center of four city blocks of restoration. We’re sure you want to know what’s going on inside. What’s behind those doors?
There’s been an investment of over $11M during the past three years, and the eight new professionally designed exhibits are sure to inspire you. In addition, a national exhibit, which will be unveiled this summer, will make the Hagen History Center a major tourist Destination. This is history that stimulates. History that excites. History that inspires.
That’s just a sampling. After you leave, you’ll want to return to see it all (and much more) again. Additionally, new exhibits for 2022 are already in the works!
The Grand Opening weekend will include a Friday evening cocktail party for donors beginning at 6 pm at which Thomas B. Hagen will cut the ribbon opening the new building. If you’d like to attend, donor information is available by calling 814-454-1813 x 34.
