Full-day photography seminar “Not Just Another Shot”
Photographic Arts Society of Northwestern PA (PASNWPA) is hosting an educational photography seminar called “Not Just Another Shot” by award-winning photographer, Ellen Anon. The seminar will be held in Room 104 at the Zurn Science Center at Gannon University located at 143 W 7th St, Erie, PA 16501. The cost is $49, which includes lunch. High school and college students are free with ID but must reserve a seat in advance. In this full-day seminar, Ellen, whose photography is based on nature, with a blend of the realistic and abstract, will provide valuable insight into how to create images that stand out from the millions that are taken each day…images that go beyond being just technically correct. And involve emotions and communicate stories.
The full-day seminar will be divided into sections that will include some lecture, as well as exercises and discussion. The exercises are designed to help you step out of your comfort zone and experiment in ways that may help you take your images in slightly new directions. Be sure to bring your camera and lenses (or at the very least a cell phone camera)! Some post- processing approaches will be discussed although this will not be the primary emphasis of the seminar. There will also be a private Facebook group for a limited amount of time after the seminar where each person can post a certain number of images created from the workshop and receive feedback both from Ellen and from others who attend the seminar.
