Eerie Horror Film Fest 2021

EERIE HORROR FEST ANNOUNCES

FULL FEATURE FILM PROGRAM, INDUSTRY PITCH PANEL AND GUESTS

The Film Society of Northwestern Pennsylvania is excited to announce its full feature film program, guest line-up and industry pitch panel for the 2021 edition of the Eerie Horror Fest, October 27-30 at the Erie Playhouse. All-Access Passes and single Day Passes are now available at www.eeriehorrorfest.com. All film screenings will take place at the Erie Playhouse. Most meet and greets will take place in the Meiser Building. The Industry Panel will take place at Velocity Network Inc. Details below.

 

WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 27

6:00 PM - ALIENS (1986) Special Edition Cut, followed by Q&A with star, Michael Biehn

Ripley (Sigourney Weaver), the sole survivor of the Nostromo's deadly encounter with the monstrous Alien, returns to Earth after drifting through space in hypersleep for 57 years. Although her story is initially met with skepticism, she agrees to accompany a team of Colonial Marines back to planet LV-246. We will be screening the special edition, extended cut of the film which broadens the narrative scope and enriches the emotional impact of the film.

6:00 PM - AN AMERICAN WEREWOLF IN LONDON (1981), followed by Q&A with star, David Naughton

David (David Naughton) and Jack (Griffin Dunne), two American college students, are backpacking through Britain when a large wolf attacks them. As David heals in the hospital, he's plagued by violent nightmares, warning David that he is becoming a werewolf.

Professional spy Mark (Sam Neill) returns to his West Berlin home to find his wife Anna (Isabelle Adjani, in a role that earned her Best Actress at Cannes) insistent on a divorce. As Anna’s frenzied behavior becomes ever more alarming, Mark discovers a truth far more sinister than his wildest suspicions.

Following a series of unexplained crimes, a father is reunited with the son who has been missing for 10 years.

  • Earlier this year, director Julia Ducournau (“Raw”) became the second female director to win the Palme d'Or at the Cannes Film Festival for Titane. In September, Titane won the Midnight Madness Audience Award at the Toronto International Film Festival.

The Greater Erie Film Office will host a networking event and Industry Panel on how to pitch your idea to producers and distributors. This event is best suited for filmmakers, screenwriters, students and reactive entrepreneurs.

After attempting to take her own life, a young woman must wrestle with an overbearing husband.

 

6:00 PM - UNEARTH (2020)

Followed by Q&A with stars Marc Blucas, Allison McAtee, PJ Marshall, Monica Wyche, Rachel McKeon

A fracking horror story, "Unearth" follows two neighboring farm families whose relationships are strained when one of them chooses to lease their land to an oil and gas company. In the midst of growing tension, the land is drilled, and something long dormant and terrifying, deep beneath the earth's surface is released.

  • Unearth was an Erie-based production which has played in festivals worldwide over the past year. Our event is the first time many of the lead cast members have been reunited in-person.

When blind former skier Sophie cat-sits in a secluded mansion, three thieves invade for the hidden safe. Sophie's only defense is army veteran Kelly. Kelly helps Sophie defend herself against the invaders and survive.
