VisitErie Events Calendar Guidelines

Thanks for your interest in promoting your event! VisitErie's focus is bringing tourists to Erie County, Pennsylvania, so there are some stipulations on the events VisitErie promotes.

Events should:

• Have a broad appeal for tourists visiting Erie County, including festivals, concerts, and special events at local businesses.
• Be open to the public, and an activity in which visitors can participate.
• Represent the best of the Erie region, and provide visitors with an overall positive experience

Examples of events that are not eligible are: store sales, job fairs, private conferences, yard sales, meetings, political events, private fundraisers and membership events, and other events that are not travel and tourism related at VisitErie's discretion.

Submitted events should keep the following guidelines in mind:

• Events must be located in Erie County, PA, or at a VisitErie partner business.
• Only one event may be submitted per form.
• Event dates must be final; tentative dates are not acceptable.
• Event descriptions must be shorter than 300 words in length.
• Events should be submitted at least two weeks prior to the event occurrence to ensure adequate notice to the public.
• Photos should not include text.

Event listings may be edited, approved or refused at VisitErie’s discretion. Please verify that your event is not already listed on the calendar before submitting.

Make Your Event Stand Out:

• Select relevant categories.
• Use a vibrant and appealing horizontal photo (400x300 pixels preferred).
• Use third-person pronouns.
• Make headlines bold.
• For multiday events, use features such as the underline or bold tool to break up the daily events.
