Located on the southern shore of our namesake lake, Erie is the Flagship City and Pennsylvania's primary access point to the Great Lakes. Erie is home to several professional performing arts groups and semi-pro sports teams with plenty to do on land or water.
A Letter to Erie County’s Tourism Industry:
VisitErie is the leader for marketing Erie’s tourism industry and promoting its economic growth. However, our mission is currently on pause as we and the rest of the world confront this ever-growing COVID-19 crisis. It is no surprise that our economy has taken a huge hit. No industry has been impacted harder than the leisure and hospitality industry.
Know that the VisitErie staff, although working from home, are hard at work responding to the challenges our industry faces and that we are driven by a strong commitment to our partners, our visitors and our community-at-large. We are currently working on a Recovery Plan so that when appropriate, we can resume promoting Erie as a destination for families, conventions and sports related events. VisitErie will continue to send you emails in an effort to provide you the most important and pertinent information regarding this crisis and its’ impact on our businesses.
In the meantime, I encourage you to stay in touch with us through our Facebook page, our Instagram account, this website, and our Blog. If you have questions about general tourism, conventions or meetings, sporting events, partnership, etc. please feel free to reach out to us via email. Additionally, our partners at the Erie Regional Chamber & Growth Partnership are acting as a clearing house for information on all of the State and Federal legislation that has been passed to offer some financial assistance to businesses. Their information can be found at www.eriepa.com.
Your safety and well-being are of the utmost importance to VisitErie. It is my hope that all of you are adhering to the Stay-At-Home guidelines and remaining healthy and safe. When the day comes that we are allowed to resume travel, be assured that Erie will be ready and waiting to welcome visitors back to our safe and friendly shores.
Until then stay home, stay safe and stay healthy.
