Thursday Mar 5th, 2026
Estimated Read Time: Five Minutes
Erie offers the perfect mix of outdoor adventure, cozy stops, and sweet treats to keep everyone smiling. This easy two-day itinerary blends snowy fun, great food, and a few local favorites for a weekend that feels both relaxed and memorable.
Day 1: Evening Adventure
Lunar Lights Snow Tubing at Peek’n Peak
Kick off your winter weekend the right way — flying down a snow-lit hill with your whole crew. Peek’n Peak’s Lunar Lights Tubing is a nighttime experience that feels genuinely special. My kids won’t stop talking about it, and neither will yours. Dress in layers and plan to stay longer than you think.
Best for: All ages • Allow 2–3 hours • Check Peek’n Peak’s website for Lunar Lights dates & times.
Dinner at Bistro 210
After hitting the snow hill, head straight to Bistro 210, located on the Peek'n Peak Resort, for a warm, sit-down dinner the whole family will love. Enjoy the relaxed atmosphere and great food. It was the perfect way to cap off an evening in the cold.
Best for: Families • Allow 1–1.5 hours • Reservations recommended on weekends.
Day 2: Explore & Indulge
Morning Stop: Bay & Berry Cafe
Start Day 2 slowly with a delicious breakfast at Bay and Berry Cafe. Bay & Berry is the kind of spot that rewards you for not rushing — warm drinks, cozy vibes, and sweet treats to fuel the day ahead. They are most well know for their flights. Try a latte flight for extra caffeine fuel or the butter flight with four different flavored butters.
Best for: All ages • Allow 30–45 minutes.
Midday: Tom Ridge Environmental Center (TREC)
The Tom Ridge Environmental Center is one of Erie’s most underrated family destinations, and winter is a great time to visit. Interactive exhibits, stunning views of Presque Isle, and educational programming that doesn’t feel like homework. If conditions allow, take a short walk outside — the winter landscape along the lake is something else.
Best for: Ages 4+ • Allow 1.5–2 hours • Free admission.
Afternoon Treat: Lake Erie Candy Co.
This one’s non-negotiable. Lake Erie Candy Company is a must on any Erie itinerary, but there’s something about a winter visit that makes it feel extra indulgent. Pick up something for the drive home. You’ll thank yourself when the snack craving hit.
Best for: All ages • Allow 20–30 minutes.
Wind Down: Brew Ha Ha at the Colony Plaza
End the weekend on a high note at Brew Ha Ha at the Colony Plaza. Great coffee, relaxed energy, and the perfect place to sit back, flip through your camera roll, and decide when you’re coming back.
Best for: All ages • Allow 30–45 minutes.
