Things to Sip on This Fall in Erie, Pennsylvania

Wednesday Sep 20th, 2023

Fill up your mug, goblet, glass, or stein with the crisp, sweet flavors of fall! From classic pumpkin spice and cinnamon to inventive and unexpected concoctions, this must-sip list has it all. Ever tried a cider slushie topped with a sugary donut? Or perhaps a latte that mimics a stack of warm pancakes? These tempting treats promise to invoke thoughts of cozy blankets, and crackling fireplaces.

PatchtoPint Port Farms resize for web

Patch to Pint Pumpkin Stout from Port Farms Poverty Knob Farmhouse Ales: As Port Farms prepares to unveil its new 10-barrel brewery this fall, you can get a taste of what’s to come inside their beer garden (farm admission is required). Patch to Pint is a light stout made with ingredients grown on the farm including barley, hops, and freshly roasted pumpkin. When combined with their special blend of pumpkin spices, the end result is a toasty stout perfectly balanced with chocolate malt flavors and a sweet hint of pumpkin spice. (Pictured)

Twisted Cider from Rosco’s Sports Bar & Grill: This fall, Rosco’s is excited to debut the “Twisted Cider”, a revamped rendition of the classic fall drink. Crafted with a blend of Captain Morgan spiced rum, Fireball cinnamon whiskey, and fresh apple cider, it’s nothing short of sensational. For an extra indulgent touch, the glass is rimmed with cinnamon sugar.

BayHouse Tini Nuts provided by BayHouse square for web

Tini Nuts from The Bay House Oyster Bar & Restaurant: This inventive martini is crafted with the smooth peanut butter essence of Skrewball Whiskey, the rich depth of Caffè Borghetti (an Italian coffee liquor), a touch of simple syrup, fresh Lavazza espresso, and finished with a decadent rim of crushed Resse’s chocolate. It’s a sweet symphony of flavor. (Pictured)

The Coffee Shot and The Cider Slushie from The Bean: This trendy coffee café in downtown North East has teamed up with two neighboring businesses, The Straw Hat Sundae Shop and Little Shop of Donuts, to offer two delightful fall drinks. The Coffee Shot is a caffeinated kick of Straw Hat’s creamy coffee soft serve ice cream crowned with a playful syringe of The Bean’s cold brew, served in a crunchy yet slightly chewy waffle cone. Available exclusively on weekends throughout September, the Cider Slushie offers a clever twist on the timeless fall treat of cider and donuts. This fun concoction combines fresh cider and ice, crowned with a brown sugar cinnamon donut from Little Shop of Donuts.

21Brix apple cider sangria slushie square for web

Apple Cider Sangria from 21 Brix Winery: Available in various serving options, including by the glass, as a slushie, or even as a towering delight for two to four guests, this sweet-tart drink is a combination of 21 Brix’s Apple Wine with Barry’s Blanc (a blend of peach and Reisling), and apple cider. The sangria is featured in its winery’s tasting room and is also available for sale by the kit for you to make and enjoy at home! (Pictured)

Pumpkin Spice Medium Roast Coffee from Country Fair: The convenience store chain’s highly anticipated autumn coffee is back! The enticing aromas and flavors of nutmeg, cinnamon, ginger, and clove greet you as you walk through the store’s doors. Country Fair’s coffee is available in three sizes along with a wide selection of creamers, sweeteners, and syrups to further enhance your morning pick-me-up.

Chocolate Cherry Spice from Cloud 9 Wine Bar & Restaurant: This fall-inspired cocktail strikes a harmonious balance between spirits and spices. Crafted with rich chocolate, luxardo maraschino cherries, rye whiskey, and a blend of warming autumn spices, it is a luxurious and indulgent experience. (Pictured)

Elktoberfest from Twisted Elk Brewery: Twisted Elk has put their own “twist” on this traditional lager. The Elktoberfest is a Marzen (a German lager style that originated in Bavaria) filtered lager that is a unique blend of specialty malts that deliver a lighter, smoother version than a typical Oktoberfest beer.

Holiday Spice Wine from Penn Shore Winery and Vineyards
Bring home a bottle of Penn Shore’s signature semi-sweet red wine that is blended with a variety of warm holiday spices. This wine is best enjoyed when served slightly warm and snuggled up to a cozy fire.

Romolo caramel apple cider square for web

Caramel Apple Cider from Romolo Chocolates: This customer obsession is a heavenly creation with the sweetness of caramel and the bright tang of apples. The best way to enjoy this amazing drink is warm with a scoop of Romolo’s homemade vanilla ice cream, just like apple pie a la mode. (Pictured)

Maple Pancake Latte from Purrista Cat Café: Aside from getting the chance to interact with charming adoptable cats in an intimate setting, Purrista added a new fall drink that is a whimsical take on a pancake breakfast, poured into a mug. The Maple Pancake Latte is made with espresso, your choice of dairy or non-dairy milk, maple pancake syrup topped with whipped cream and a drizzle of real maple syrup.

CaramelAppleSeedyPumpkinAle Arundel Cellars square for web

Caramel Apple Spiked Cider and Seedy Pumpkin Ale from Arundel Cellars & Brewing Company: Arundel welcomes back two fan favorites to its taps this fall! Their classic spiked cider has been dipped in caramel for an added touch of sweet and salty. The seedy pumpkin ale is lightly spiced with subtle pumpkin notes, making it an appropriate refreshment to enjoy on a crisp autumn day. (Pictured)

Churro Latte from Pressed Books and Café: Pair this luscious latte with your favorite book or best-seller and settle in for a well-deserved time out in one of the café’s cozy seating areas. The Churro Latte is crafted with vanilla and cinnamon and finished with a caramel drizzle. It’s an indulgent journey of sweet delight. It’s important to note that most drinks on their menu can also be made vegan on request.
