The Western PA Chapter of Kayak Anglers will host its annual Shriner’s Team Charity Event on Presque Isle Bay Saturday, May 15. The event is being hosted in conjunction with the PA BASS Nation Kayak Series Event on Presque Isle Bay. Anglers will launch at 5:30 a.m. from Presque Isle State Park or Chestnut St. boat launch and lines in will be at 6 a.m. Anglers will fish until 2 p.m. and fish will need to be submitted to TourneyX by 3 p.m. The event is open to members of Kayak Anglers and non-members. A team of two KA members is $50. A team that consists of a member and a non member team is $65. A team of two non members is $80. Participants must fish from human powered kayaks, single-person canoes or SUPs. The tournaments are catch-photograph-release events, with all fish measured and scored digitally. Anglers will submit photos of fish remotely via mobile device to be measured. Kayak Anglers utilizes TourneyX Tournament Management System. Kayak Anglers operates to foster relationships in the kayak fishing community, with objectives including cleaning waterways and improving waterway access, giving to related charities and building the community through sustainable, catch-photograph-release tournaments. The Western PA Chapter will host eight tournaments in 2021. All event fees from this tournament will benefit Shriners Hospitals for Children - Erie.
