Live Theater

The hottest tickets in town are at Erie’s performance venues! The fall season features a variety of staged dramas, beloved shows, and musical classics. Located in downtown Erie, the award-winning Erie Playhouse will show a series of high caliber productions this season, such as “Clue On  Stage”, “The Sound of Music” and “Elf: The Musical”. Follow the lights on State Street to the recently restored art deco-style Warner Theater for a series of theatrical and concert performances throughout the colder seasons. Commissioned in 1929 by the famous Warner Brothers, the Warner Theater is home to the Erie Philharmonic, Broadway in Erie series, and hosts a number of lectures and touring shows. Located in the heart of Erie, All An Act Theatre provides a variety of thought-provoking performances in an intimate space. Its mission is to present a venue that is accessible and affordable for all theater lovers. This fall, All An Act will perform “The Play That Goes Wrong”, a 1920’s –style whodunit. Take in dinner and a show at the Erie Station Dinner Theatre. The Station’s 2022 season highlight is the hugely popular “A Canterbury Feast”, an annual medieval-style musical comedy, now in its 41st year. Be prepared to dig in and eat with your hands, then raise a glass while singing alongside wenches and knaves in this rousing show!

Harvest Events and Festivals

Erie Pennsylvania is known for its diverse festivals and events and some of the best ones happen during the fall.  Enjoy the fruits of the vine during WineFest held in the heart of Lake Erie Wine Country at Gibson Park in North East, PA from September 23 - 25, 2022.  The annual festival includes wine tasting from more than 10 local wineries, grape stomping, wine and grape-related products, live entertainment, delicious food and much more.  The historic Warner Theater sets a perfectly ghoulish scene for the Eerie Horror Fest.  Taking place October 5-8, this four day film and gaming festival is packed with celebrity guests, films, meet and greets, live Q&As and vendors. The biennial Great Lakes Beach Glass and Arts Festival (October 8-9, 2022) at the Bayfront Convention Center has become one of the largest arts festivals in the region, featuring artisans and craftspeople from across the US and Canada. Visit for the handmade jewelry, art, decor, lecture series, live music, bottle and shard identification exhibit, antique collections, wine tasting and more. This Halloween, dress the kiddos up in their favorite Halloween costume to attend the Erie Zoo’s annual ZooBoo, a scary, but not too scary Halloween event.  This fun family-friendly event runs October 12 -30, Wednesdays through Sundays from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. and features various trick-or-treat stations throughout the zoo grounds. During the weekend of October 13-15, Asbury Woods Scary Creature Feature is a fall family favorite complete with activities, storytelling, and a guided walk through the woods where guests encounter and learn about some not-so-scary, nocturnal creatures that live in the forest.  Celebrate fall during the 34th annual Fall Fest at Peek’n Peak Resort with two weekends of fall fun (October 8, 9, 15, 16) in the nearby foothills of Western New York.  Fall Fest features a farmers market, a juried craft show with more than 130 different vendors, horse-drawn carriage rides, a massive Kids Zone, pony rides, magic shows and the popular pumpkin cannon. In November, choose the weekend that suits you best and come celebrate the fall harvest during Lake Erie Wine Country’s Harvest Weekends November 4-6 and 11-13.
