Can the media bring guests and/or family members while visiting Erie?

Yes, we encourage you to bring family and friends to experience Erie on their own; however, VisitErie cannot guarantee lodging, meals or admission into attractions and tours for guests of working media. On occasion, the story may necessitate family members or friends visiting, and we will make arrangements on a case-by-case basis.

What is the best time of year to visit?

The Erie area has something for everyone for every season!

The summer tends to be the busiest because of the beaches and the variety of events taking place between Memorial Day and Labor Day.

Fall tends to be popular for anyone looking to explore the vineyards and wineries, farm markets, fall foliage at Presque Isle State Park and other outdoor recreational attractions.

Spring is a great time for media who are looking to file an advance story on some of Erie’s summer and fall events such as WineFest and Discover Presque Isle Days.

Winter is a time to focus on some of the region's lesser-reported stories, like Splash Lagoon Indoor Water Park, Peek n Peak Ski Resort, various shops, museums and performance venues. VisitErie encourages media interested in visiting to check out our Events Calendar and see if there is an event that interests them.

Are there photographs available to the media?

Yes, we have hundreds. Our photo gallery includes images of Presque Isle State Park, festivals, events, attractions, outdoor recreation, Bayfront, shopping, dining, etc. Media are encouraged to view images in our press photo gallery. If you need more assistance, email Christine Temple  and she'll supply what you need.

Are there experts and/or tour guides available to the media to answer questions?

Yes. VisitErie is happy to put the media in touch with the appropriate expert as a source in their story.
